سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ
Recite when boarding any vehicle — car, plane, train, ship, or even an animal. The Prophet would recite this when mounting his camel for travel. Also recite when starting your journey and upon returning home safely.
"And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth — all from Him."
— Quran 45:13, Surah Al-JathiyahThe Prophet guaranteed that whoever recites this dua will be protected from harm during their travel until they return home.
This dua acknowledges that all means of transport — from camels to cars to planes — are blessings from Allah that we could never have created ourselves.
The phrase "to our Lord we will return" is a powerful reminder of our ultimate journey back to Allah, making travel a spiritual experience.
Despite being short, this dua contains praise of Allah, acknowledgment of His favors, and remembrance of the Hereafter.
