1. The Primary Evening Dua

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Meaning
We have entered the evening and all dominion belongs to Allah. All praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things competent.

2. Dua for Night Protection (3x)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Frequently Asked Questions

The time for evening adhkar begins after Asr prayer until sunset. If missed, they can be recited until midnight as a make-up, but the full reward is for reciting them in the prescribed time before Maghrib.

The main difference is the word "asbahna" (we entered the morning) for morning and "amsayna" (we entered the evening) for evening. The content is otherwise identical, making it easy to memorize both.
